Who we are

Jakk ("Jakk", "we", "us") provides the Jakk app: AI-personalised gym programmes built on frameworks created by real personal trainers, and a platform connecting you with independent coaches. This policy covers the Jakk app and jakkfitness.com.

Information we collect

• Account information; your email address and display name.
• Fitness and health information; details you provide for programme building (e.g. training goals, equipment access, injuries or muscle groups to avoid), plus workout data you log (sets, reps, weight, session history, personal records).
• Payment information; if you're billed through a coach, payments are processed by Stripe. Jakk never sees or stores your card details; Stripe handles this directly.
• Coach relationship data; if you're training with a Jakk coach, your coach can see your name, subscription status, and (where relevant to their coaching) your programme, so they can support your training.
• Usage data; basic analytics on how the app is used, to help us fix bugs and improve features.

How we use your information

• To generate and personalise your training programme, including using AI (via OpenAI) to build and adjust your plan based on the information you provide.
• To let your coach support your training, if you're training with one.
• To process payments (via Stripe) and manage your subscription.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
• To communicate with you about your account or the service.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that make Jakk work:

• Supabase; hosts our database and authentication.
• OpenAI; processes information you provide to generate your programme and power the in-app AI coach.
• Stripe; processes payments if you're billed through a coach.
• Your coach; if you signed up through a coach's invite, they can see your status and, where relevant, your programme.
• Analytics tooling, used in aggregate to understand app usage; not to sell or share your personal data with advertisers.

Your rights and choices

You can export a copy of your data or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Data Export or Profile → Delete Account in the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, programmes, and workout history from our systems.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, your data is removed as described above.

Health data

Information you provide about injuries, limitations, or muscle groups to avoid is used solely to build a safer, more relevant programme for you. It is not sold or shared with third parties beyond those listed above, and is not used for advertising.

Children's privacy

Jakk is not intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children under this age.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (including access controls and encryption in transit) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
